Ourika Valley is a fun place where there are plenty of hikes and treks. The traditional mountain trek that leads to a 7-waterfall cascade is a most can do. Ourika is situated in the foothills of the High Atlas, 60 km from Marrakech. It is one of the most prominent day trips destinations in Marrakech thanks to its many Berber villages, waterfalls and several attractions. Weekly Berber Markets & Ourika valley Day Trip:

Ourika Valley day trip will give you the opportunity to see a weekly Berber Market (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays) that is fascinating for their rural business and life. If it’s the off-season, it’s a good experience and is perhaps the most exciting thing you can find in a 2-hour flight from a European country; you’ll actually be the only tourist there. Berber markets are always divided into sections of beef, vegetables, dry goods, clothes, furniture, barbers, goats, donkeys, used products, and just about everything else you might picture, everything complete with the lurid colors and smells you’d anticipate from a weekly Berber market in a Berber village like asni or Amezmize.

Marrakech to Ourika Valley Day Trip Itinerary:

Departure will be by a 4WD car from Marrakech about 9 a.m. for 1 hour to Setti Fatma to experience the soothing waters of the 7 waterfalls, traveling through many Berber villages and the Ourika Valley with many stops along the scenic path for taking photos. When we hit Setti Fatma, we’ll have our lunch and take a short walk along some of the spectacular paths, climbing up rock carvings to the first waterfall before driving back to Marrakesh.
