Imperial Cities and Sahara Desert Tour in 9 Days Itinerary:

Day 1: Tangier – Chefchouen

We will meet and greet in Tangier and then head to Chefchaouen, a town built as a hidden place to attack the Portuguese on the north coast. It was absolutely forbidden for Europeans to enter the village until the arrival of the Spanish troops in 1920. The Arrival in Chefchaouen and then you will be able to create your first connection with the city. Overnight in Chefchouen with HB.

Day 2: Chefchouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

Departure towards the Roman city of voluibilis, 166 km away, and it takes 2 hours to get there. Volubilis is at the foot of the Jebel Zerhoun. The site was inhabited during the Meolithic period and was occupied by the Carthaginians and then by the Romans. In this heritage site, you will explore the house of Orpheus, Decumanus Maximus and Triumphal Arch, the house of Dinysus, the house of Dionysus and the Four Seasion, and after visiting the Roman city, you will travel to Meknes and around 4:00 p.m. you will move to Fes. Day 3: Fes Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, with a local official tour guide, we will commence our visit to “the world’s oldest living Medina.” We will explore the Medina with its souks, stop at the door of the Royal Palace, the 9th century Karouine Mosque and the University. We will also see the tomb of the city founder “Moulay Idriss II.” Lunch will take place at one of the old Medina’s traditional restaurants. We will continue our tour after lunch to visit the Nejjarine Fountain, the ancient Harem Garden and the Batha Museum. We’ll stop genuinely to love a scenic view of the city on the way back to the hotel.

Day 4: Fes – Middle Atlas – Cedar Forest – Merzouga

After taking an early breakfast, we will be heading to the desert of Merzouga. We pause in Ifrane, known as Morocco’s Switzerland, and take some pictures. Then we go to Azrou to see the monkeys in the forest of cedars. Continuing to Halfway village of Mideltberber, lunch at a restaurant and then we continue to move through TIZI N TALGHAMT & Errachidia, we rest at Ziz Gorges & Ziz Oasis sights. The drive keeps going to Merzouga passing by Aoufous, Erfoud (best known for fossils), Rissani (prominent with dates) In the afternoon we hit Merzouga After drinking mint tea, the guide and the camels are waiting to take you throughout the erg-chebbi sandy dunes, you will appreciate the beauty of the sunset on camel, after 1 hour you enter the desert village, the locals will play for you Saharan Drums, watch the Stars, Dinner & Overnight at the Tent. Day 6: Dades Gorge – Skouraa – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou

After breakfast, enjoy walking in a sunny morning in Dades Valley. Then we head to Marrakech, passing through El Kelaa Magona, the Valley of the Roses and the road of a thousand Kasbahs. We’re going to visit Ouarzazate and stop for lunch in the village of Ait Benhaddou. We will have time to explore this iconic UNESCO site, which has served as the location for many films, such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Night will be spent at the typical Kasbah with HB. Day 7: Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech

We depart for Marrakech after breakfast via the Atlas Mountains. We’re passing the pink valley and the Skoura Oases. We make a visit to the iconic Atlas Film Studio and the most glamorous Kasbah in Morocco, Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou–a UNESCO World Heritage Site–and move to Marrakech. We’re going to have dinner and stay the night in Marrakech. Riad Anya

Day 8: Marrakech Sightseeing tour

After breakfast, enjoy a city tour in the morning. Explore the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Minaret, the Bahia Palace and the Majorelle Gardens. Then you will explore significant historical and cultural sites in the medina of Marrakech!: Coranique College, Berber Arts, Artisants, Museum, Colorful Souks, That day will end with a sunset drink and overlooking Jamaa El Fna Square, Dinner at Nice Restaurant. Day 9: Transfer to the airport

Transfer to the airport in the morning (depending on your scheduled departure).
