Overview:

3 day tour from marrakech to fes is one of Marrakech’s most popular desert tours linking the two imperial cities. The spectacular tour enables you to explore a large part of the south of Morocco, beginning Marrakech to the Atlas mountains and passing by beautiful scenery along the twisted roads and perched Berber village mixed with the mountains to the famed kasbahs of the protected village of Ait benhaddou and Ouarzazate with its stunning attractions, and then spend the first night in a typical yet luxurious hotel in the Dades gorge.

The second day includes taking a short walk in the vast gorges of Todra before going for Merzouga in the arid plains marking the beginning of the deserts.

Once in Merzouga, you will ride the camels and go deeply into the desert to spend the night in a spacious camp (you will have your own private tents complete with warm beds and plenty of sheets for the cold nights, and a toilet ensuite and shower). Experience a starry night under a transparent and pleasant sky, after a delicious meal, spend quality time with the fire music team.

The third day of our 3 day tour from Marrakech to Fes will lead you on a different path to Fez, passing several villages and scenery, a short break in the magnificent cedar forest with its friendly monkeys and a coffee break in the town of Ifrane also known as “Little Switzerland” for its tidiness and beauty. So in the country’s Cultural Capital: Fes where your driver can drop you off at your hotel.

3 Day tour from Marrakech to Fes Itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel or the nearest accessible point for the car at 08:00 am and you will continue your 3 day tour from Marrakech to Fes to the Dades Gorges throughout the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass of the 2260 m high Atlas Mountains, with far-reaching mountain views to the typical Berber High Atlas villages.

Next, you continue to visit Ait benhaddou’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, a site used by many producers as a setting for their films such as the “Gladiator,”Lawrence of Arabia” and some scenes of TV Show”Game of Thrones” TV series.

We are going to have lunch at one of the restaurants on the Kasbahs foothills. Then we proceed to the gorges of Dades through the large palm groves of Skoura and the rose valley that stretches along the river M’Goun (the rose of Damascena was introduced to Morocco by a Berber trader from Damascus centuries ago, hence the word, it blooms between April and mid-May).

Finally, making a detour from the main road, we’ll drive up to the Dades River to hit our hotel with a few breaks to enjoy the beautiful river views and a strange rock formation named “The Monkey Feet.” We’re going to spend the night at our Dades hotel.

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Erfoud -Risani – Erg chebbi dunes in Merzouga.

We’ll travel from the Dades Gorges to the Erg chebbi Sahara desert in Merzouga after breakfast. Following another minor detour from the main road, we will have to go up the Todra gorges for a little while to hit the enormous cliffs where you can experience a short walk to fully enjoy the beauty of nature before continuing our southern journey.

Berber villages are distributed along the way, Tinjdad, Jorf and Erfoud where you can experience the beginning of Tafilalet’s Saharan oasis and its vast arid plateaus. When you arrive in Merzouga, a short off-road brings you to the edge of the golden dunes where camels are ready for you.

The luggage will be loaded in a 4×4 vehicle and driven to the camp and then taking a stunning camel journey across the sand dunes and seeing the glorious sunset of the desert on your way to the camp.

You’ll be welcomed with tea and happiness upon entering your destination. Before dinner, you will be shown to your wonderful comfortable private tents equipped with bathrooms and showers to relax and settle. After a wonderful meal, the fire will be sparked and the crew and cameleers will take over a festive atmosphere of musical plays under the desert’s starry night!

Day 3: Merzouga – Erfoud – Errachidia – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Fez.

It is recommended to wake up early in the morning to witness the incredible sunrise over the dunes. then you’ll have breakfast in the camp, you’ll go back by camels or 4×4 ahead from the dunes. Back on the asphalt roads, through the High Atlas Mountains, you’ll head north to Fez. We’re passing via Erfoud, Errachidia and Midelt on the way.

We must pause on the Cedar forests of Azrou for lunch and you will be able to take photos of wild monkeys before arriving in Fez. Drop off at the accommodation.
